First Aid Intermediate training builds on the foundational knowledge gained in basic first aid courses, providing individuals with a deeper understanding and more advanced skills to respond to medical emergencies. This training focuses on assessing and managing more complex injuries and medical conditions, including severe trauma, heart attacks, strokes, and respiratory issues. Participants learn how to recognize and respond to symptoms of these conditions, perform advanced techniques such as managing spinal injuries, and how to handle multiple casualties in an emergency situation. The course covers the use of additional medical tools and equipment, teaching participants how to apply bandages, splints, and dressings effectively, as well as how to administer oxygen when necessary. Emphasis is placed on situational awareness, decision-making, and the importance of remaining calm and composed under pressure. Participants also learn how to assess vital signs and manage shock, and they are trained in performing CPR in more advanced scenarios, such as with infants or during a medical emergency involving multiple people. By the end of the training, individuals will be equipped to provide an elevated level of care in emergency situations, with the ability to stabilize casualties and provide critical support until professional medical help arrives.
